DECEMBER 2023

There are lots of great things happening at Northpark and in our community this Christmas season! As we celebrate, we want to share resources and opportunities with you that will help you go deeper in your time and pursuit of the Lord, invest in relationships and our community, meet needs, support local, celebrate together, and more!

Advent Resources

“The good news of Advent is not that we are faithful in our waiting (we often are not) but that God is faithful in His coming.”

– RICH VILLODAS –
What is Advent?

Advent is a Latin word that means “coming” or “arrival.” Advent is a season of the Church calendar that stretches from four Sundays before Christmas Day (Nov 27, 2022) through Christmas Eve.

We remember and celebrate the Son of God coming down to us, taking on humanity to be born as a baby in Bethlehem. And we anticipate His future, triumphant return as King of kings (Luke 1:11-15, Revelation 21:5-7).

How can we celebrate Advent?

There is no one way to celebrate the Advent season! You get to choose how to honor God and take time to reflect on the season and all it means. Below, we have provided a few resources that may be helpful as you learn more about Advent and decide how to celebrate – prayer, devotions, family discussions, etc.

IMPACT Opportunities

When we think about IMPACT…we often think about TITLES, ACCOLADES AND POSITIONS.
But, when we think about the people who fundamentally impact our lives, it’s possibly someone that very few people even know by name.

At Northpark, we believe God has called each of us to truly IMPACT the world, but you can be sure…“it doesn’t just happen!”
It may be SMALL acts of love and service, but we must be intentional.

That being said, we have compiled a list of a few resources and opportunities this holiday season to hopefully help you, in fact, make an impact. Help meet needs in our community, invest in relationships with your friends and family, support local businesses, and more!

The Northpark family has the incredible opportunity again this year to partner with our family at River Bend Middle School to serve students and families that need a little extra help this Christmas season.

For this outreach initiative, NP family members will have the opportunity beginning Sun, Nov 19, to select a child/family represented by an ornament on our Angel Tree in the NP lobby. Then throughout the next few weeks, you will be able to collect things like gift cards, grocery and gas cards, clothing (socks, hats, coats, etc) and more!  All items should be turned back into the Northpark team by Sun, Dec 10.

More details coming soon!

Mark your calendars for the cutest Christmas Program around!

The kids of Northpark will be gracing “big church” with their presence in part of the 10AM service on Sun, Dec 10. We can’t wait to share about the joy that comes from knowing Jesus came into the world for each of us!

Sign up your kiddo to participate, and get all the details on rehearsals, practice music, recitation lines, and more HERE!

Christmas Eve Service
Sun, Dec 24 @ 10am

Each year Northpark celebrates the Christmas season in many ways and one of our favorite ways to do that is through our Christmas Eve service.  Typically this service takes place at night on Dec 24, but this year Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, so we will be celebrating together in the 10:00am morning service at Northpark/River Bend Middle School. Come expecting special music, a few holiday elements, and candlelight communion.

We look forward to worshipping with you on this very special day!

New Year’s Eve Service
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31
10:00AM

To kick off the year right, we are having a very special Sunday morning worship gathering AT NORTHPARK’S COMMUNITY CAMPUS (affectionately called NP2) in Wake Forest (4529 Purnell Rd). This will be a family service (all together in the main sanctuary) and we will celebrate the start of a new year and new season together.

We will return to Sunday mornings at River Bend on Sun, Jan 7!
